The name game

On Valentines Day my parents got a new kitten. This was not a planned thing, it was freezing outside and the poor little guy ran inside when my mom opened the front door.

With a new kitten you need a name. I campaigned hard for Valentino, very appropriate, while my mom preferred the lamer choice of Cupid. Over the next several days literally hundreds of names were discussed and argued, but none could be agreed upon. We all finally gave up and decided to give it a few days. Then the following conversation happened:

My mom: Who's that baseball player that's so good looking?
My dad (instantly): Derek Jeter?
M: Yeah, lets name him Jeter.
D: Okay

That was easy, and it wasn't even my idea.

Hello Stupid

I went to the gym this morning, and as soon as I got there I felt a little weird. Like people were staring at me. I did a quick mirror check and everything seemed alright, so I tried to let it go. But I still felt like people were looking at me. Later, I glanced in the mirror again and it hit me. It wasn't that anything was wrong with me, they were just staring at the 26 year old girl wearing a Hello Kitty t-shirt.

African Stew

This was my first attempt at adding more veggies to my diet, and it was delicious! I found it online when I was searching for spinach recipes. Not only was it great, its pretty easy as well. I halved the original recipe, so here's what I did:

1 bag spinach
1 can diced tomatoes
1 onion
2 Tablespoons peanut butter

Chop the onion and cook it in oil until soft. Add can of tomatoes and cook about 5 minutes, stir occasionally. Add chopped spinach and cover, cook at medium heat for 5 minutes. While spinach is cooking thin the peanut butter with hot water until it is a smooth paste. Remove the lid and stir in peanut butter. Cook another 5 to 10 minutes.

When I make this again I might add some red pepper flakes and see how that goes.

Books

I'm not going to keep track of the books I read on here anymore. I have a list on my facebook account, and I keep one on goodreads.com, so its getting a little ridiculous. If your curious about what I'm reading check out one of those places.

Vegetable Challenge

I have another challenge/goal for myself. I eat pretty healthy most of the time, but I am very aware of the fact that I rarely eat vegetables. This is odd because I hardly ever eat meat either. I mostly eat fruit, rice, and beans. I've been on the Internet looking up new vegetable recipes, and I'm determined to try them out. I'll let you know how it goes.

Book 7

Envy: A Luxe Novel by: Anna Godbersen

The first book in this series was pretty good, the second two have not been. Thankfully there is only one left and then it will be over.
